Khao Lak

Khao Lak is a beautiful beach area covering an area of 30 km as part of Phang Nga Province and about 100 km, from Phuket City along the Andaman Sea to a breathtaking mountain backdrop, in the south of Thailand.

The meaning of the name "Khao Lak" means "mountain of lak", after the large mountain in the center of the region, which is the main attraction of Lam Ru National Park.

The attractions offered by the Khao Lak area are varied and impressive. The combination of the mountains, the roads along the area, the beautiful beaches that are very clean, and the whole nature that remains untouched by human hands are what make the whole area mysterious and breathtaking. It is considered one of the most beautiful areas in Thailand. What is beautiful and attracts masses of visitors to the area is the combination of the comfort of the west in the form of resorts and hotels, some of which are very luxurious, alongside the simple, traditional Thai life.

In 2004, the region was hit by the Tsunami. The memories are still engraved in the memory of the locals, but today the entire area is completely restored, the resorts have been renovated as new, the tourists have returned to the area in large numbers, and the whole place seems to be heading towards a prosperous future.

It is important to note that a museum in memory of the tsunami was built in Khao Lak and is now an integral part of the culture of the rich region, Alongside the amazing waterfalls, the wild nature reserve, snorkeling and beautiful diving areas, day trips to the Phuket area, the endless beaches spread throughout the entire area, and the lively atmosphere offered by the place.

Khao Lak is also known as a preferred destination for families who prefer a quieter and more relaxed atmosphere than in areas such as Patong and Pattaya.
