The city of Pattaya (พทยาา) is located by the eastern beach of Thailand’s bay, about 145 km south-east of Bangkok. The city’s name comes from the former king’s name (Prya Takk), which marched from the old capital of Ayutthaya, into chonburi, to free his country from the invading Burmese.
